PPP election monitoring cell has unveiled the master plan of rigging election 2008.

The administration has planned to rig the Elections in the following manner: 1. Where an opposing candidate is strong in an area, they have planned to create a conflict at the polling station, even killing people if necessary, to stop polls for at least 3 – 4 hours. The polling stations will be granted extended opening of thirty minutes which will not be made up for the time lost.

Human Rights Watch has released the audio recording of Attorney General Malik Qayyum , telling his friend that the elections will be massively rigged and advised him to get (PML-Q) ticket instead of PPP or PML(N).

Interesting data about the registered voters.

As our visitors might have noticed that the National Assembly registered voters data for 2008 have been updated on PakElectionsOnline.org. Here is some very interesting analysis of the registered voters data.
  • In 2002 , there were total 71,766,296 registered voters, where as in 2008 the registered voters count is 80,811,088 an increase of nine million (9,044,792) new voters. This is 12.60% increase over the 2002.
  • In Punjab there is an increase of 3.4 million (3,431,825) voters. This is a 8.26% increase over the 2002.
  • In Sindh there is an increase of 3.2 million (3,241,802) voters. This is a whopping 20.05% increase over the 2002.
  • In NWFP there is an increase of 1.9 million (1,933,171) voters. This is a whopping 19.06% increase over the 2002.
  • In Balochistan there is an increase of 0.43 million (437,994) voters. This is a 11.57% increase over the 2002.
  • In NA-253 Karachi XV registered voters in 2002 were 249.365 , however in 2008 the number has increased to 423,284 , 69% more voters than 2002. It is an increase of 173,919 to be precise.
  • In NA-148 MULTAN registered voters in 2002 were 184,014 , however in 2008 the number has increased to 344,896 , 87% more voters than 2002. Please also note that this constituency had the highest turn out 69% in 2002 elections.
  • In NA-206 LARKANA registered voters in 2002 were 255,723 , however in 2008 the number has decreased to only 148797 , 41% decrease.
  • In Karachi , total registered voters were 4,744,013 in 2002, but in 2008 the count increased to 6,682,145 which is a 40.85% increase.
